The Gift of Time

Ta-ri has already developed a strong tradition of volunteerism. Here are some ways that you can volunteer:

Events

We’re always looking for good organizers and people to help with the many tasks it takes to keep an event running smoothly, such as setup/cleanup, activity coordination, greeter, registration, sales table, photography, emcee, food, and other specific tasks. Those with ideas and a desire for a larger time commitment can also volunteer to serve on the planning committee for an event.

Cultural skills, knowledge, and memories

Whether it be Korean cooking, music and dance, games, and language or sports like tae kwon do, we are also looking for ways to preserve and celebrate culture. This is also true for more modern expressions of culture and fashion. Part of this is finding time to share personal stories and experiences as well as historical knowledge. While the emphasis is on Korean and Korean-American culture, when a request is expressed by Korean-American to learn more about some cultural aspect of the United States, we will seek to meet that need as well. Many of our events and activities are built around the cultural talents of those we know, so if you have something to share, speak up!

Leadership

Each fall, the staff and Board of Directors will look to fill open positions on our Board and the Advisory Council. You can read more about these positions in our bylaws. If interested, contact our current Board chair or the executive director.

If you are interested in serving in any of these roles, contact info@ta-ri.org. New ideas and questions are welcome!
