Conference on Hepatitis B--Philadelphia--November 6--8:30 AM--1:00 PM

Sponsored by the Center for Asian Health, Asian Community Cancer Coalition, and Hepatitis B Foundation in collaboration with the Philadelphia Department of Public Health

 

This conference is a half-day-long professional meeting for staff of community-based organizations, community health professionals, health educators, outreach specialists, community leaders, advocates, and other health, social, and community service providers who serve the Asian community in the Philadelphia-area. The goal of the conference is to inform community health stakeholders in the Asian community about the severity and impact hepatitis B and liver cancer among Asians in the Philadelphia-area. Registration is free and includes continental breakfast and bento box lunch.

The CDC made a major announcement this past September 18th about and chronic hepatitis B and liver cancer among Asians in the U.S. A new CDC report now recommends routine chronic hepatitis B virus infection testing for individuals born in Asia and for US-born individuals whose parents were born in Asia.
